ABOUT
Photo & video sessions that help rescue the Satos of Puerto Rico
Hola, I’m Andrea, founder of Adventure Satos. I’m a documentary-style & editorial photographer, filmmaker & independent animal rescuer. This project started in 2016 after my first rescue mission in my home town of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. A town forgotten by many & known to have some of the worst cases of animal abandonment & abuse.
With my camera in hand I wanted to document the Satos (Puerto Rican street dogs) of the island. Capturing their struggles all the way to their greatest adventure of finding a home.
Since then I have grown this project when meeting our amazing rescue partners at Loves Animal Rescue in 2019. If I am not rescuing on my own, I’m collaborating with Loves Animal Rescue in Puerto Rico.
While in Chicago, we now offer photo & video sessions that give back to the Satos of Puerto Rico. Every session helps us continue feeding the stray animals & rescuing off the streets. We also provide professional portraits of adoptable animals in shelters around Chicago & beyond.
Our team now hosts volunteer days in Puerto Rico several times a year, annual online fundraisers as well as events in Chicago that all go towards our rescue work. Merch sales & artist collaborations are also donated or used for vetting, mediation, food & much more to help the animals of Puerto Rico.
Our goal is to continue helping animals through visual art as well as active feeding, spay & neuter & rescuing off the streets of Vega Baja, PR & around the island.
However you found us, we welcome you to join us in this adventure.
Andrea
